Human societies are increasingly facing complex situations which are characterized by ''problems'' that are confined not to one dimension of human lives, rather cut right across natural, geographical, social, political, economical, and environmental contexts within which human lives operate and innovate. Addressing such complexity requires not only dynamism on part of a human agency, but also calls for the need to overcome fragmented approach in seeking solutions. In this respect, creative educational responses need to be crafted by drawing upon knowledge from multi/inter/trans disciplinary perspectives to bear upon the issues.
This year''s international conference aims to share innovative and integrated pedagogies aims to counteract human crisis and oppressive situations, which have implications for issues of human development as a whole, and in doing so invokes transforming potential of education in general and teacher education in particular, to search for ''new'' language of possibilities and pedagogies for change.
The conference will focus on following inter-linked themes:
* Changing contexts and texts of teacher education
* Critical and innovative pedagogies for social change
* Pedagogies for emergencies and other complex contexts
The conference invites contributions to engage in a dialogue around rational processes and characteristics of pedagogies that can be considered as bearing power to transform the situation for the better. It is hoped that sharing of such ''transforming pedagogies'' through exciting interactive forum for academics, practitioners, researchers, policy makers and students from diverse fields and their perspectives will enable cross-fertilization of ideas and practices across educationists and other professionals, which in turn, may trigger change forces that can make a real difference to overall quality of human development.
